Future Fashion Folio and Show

The Future Fashion Design Contest is a design competition open to anyone and takes place before the Costume Con 37 convention. The FFF Design Competition is open to everyone. You do not have to have a membership to the convention, or be affiliated with any costuming group or organization to enter the contest. Winners are selected by a panel of judges and are then published in the Future Fashion Folio.

Members of Costume-Con may choose to make a design for the Future Fashion Show, which occurs during the convention. You do not need to be a member of Costume-Con 37 to submit designs. However, you must be a member of Costume-Con 37 to make up a design for the Future Fashion Show.

SHOW RULES:
For those inspired by the designs they see in the Folio, the Showcase is their opportunity to make one of the designs into a reality and present their creation on stage. While participation in the Future Fashion Folio was open to all, you must be a member of Costume-Con 37 to present an entry on stage in the Fashion Show.

It is acceptable for an entry into the Showcase to be made by one person and modeled by another, but both maker and model must be members of Costume-Con 37 Entries must be modeled by a human (not a doll).

Costume-Con 37 will impose no limit to the number of entries based upon any one design from the Folio. Designers wishing to reserve exclusive rights to their own designs (to themselves or anyone else) should indicate this at the time the design is submitted.

Designs which have been reserved by their designer will be designated as such when the folio is published. Designers who intend to make one of their designs for the Showcase yet do not wish to exclude the design from consideration for others need not make any special requests and should follow the reservation process detailed below.

In order to assist the director in planning the show, please reserve your place by emailing the show director Sébastien Bouchard at [Removed] no later than February 1st, 2019 with your name and the title/number of the design you are creating. If for any reason you do not believe that you will be able to present the design you’ve indicated, please let the show director know as soon as possible so that adjustments can be made.

Participants in the Fashion Showcase should plan to check in with the show director at their table at the convention to pick up participant instructions

The Fashion Showcase is unlike a masquerade in that presentation will consists of a simple on and off stage or runway walk. Unlike the Fantasy and Science Fiction Masquerade and the Historical Masquerade, there will not be any divisions for the judging.

Participants are not responsible for providing their own soundtrack or presentation, but are welcome to email the show director in advance with any special comments about their costume, which might be read during their introduction.

The Future Fashion Folio Showcase will be held during the day on Sunday, March 24th, 2019.

Below are examples of designs published in the Future Fashion Folio, then created for the Future Fashion Folio Show.
