Competition Staff & Rules

Staff:

  • Director: Albert Ricci
  • Master of Ceremonies: Marty Gear*
  • Judge(s): Ricky Dick and Andrea Schewe

Rules:

The Costume-Con 23 Single Pattern Competition challenges you to take one of our pre-selected commercial patterns:

  • Simplicity Pattern 4940: Female
  • Simplicity Pattern 4942: Male

and fashion your own creation from it!

There is only one rule:

The resulting costume must be recognizably from the pattern.

You can embellish, change, alter, change color or texture, or whatever else your imagination leads you to. Just remember, we have to be able to recognize this as coming from the Simplicity pattern!

You can include both patterns in your presentation or just one. (Or do 1/2 of one on one-side, 1/2 of the other on the other side!)

Single Pattern Show

You’ll have the chance to model and display your work on Sunday during our Grand Fashion Show in the Peery’s Egyptian Theater at 11:00 AM.

Our Special Guest

We are very pleased to have as our Special Guest the designer of these patterns: Andrea Schewe! So you can amaze, thrill, or surprise her with your creative adaptation of these designs.
