Miscellaneous Notes:

Stage Size and Setup:

The usable stage will be 24′ (feet) wide by 18′ deep for the SF&F and Historical masquerades. There will be 6’x8′ wings backstage on both sides of the stage. Preferred entrance will be Stage Right, exit will be Stage Left. (Remembering that these directions are when facing the audience, of course.) Variations are negotiable on an entry-by-entry basis. Getting from the floor to the stage will, unfortunately, be short sets of stairs.

For the Future Fashion Show and Single Pattern Competitions, a runway will be added, although exact details are not known at this time.

Between the Green Room and the stage is a short walk (<200 feet) through 2 sets of standard double doors - 6 feet wide by 7 feet tall. The backdrop will be a theatrical cyclorama, providing a neutral background for everything, with the ability to light it in complementary or contrasting colors. There will be 2 spotlights, allowing for multi-person spotting or single-person multi-angle. All this on top of a full theatrical lighting rig. We will have the ability to play sound brought to us in nearly any modern format. CDs or full quality audio files (.wav) on USB thumb drives are preferred. iPods and mp3 files are highly discouraged, as while they sound fine on the ear buds Apple ships, they will NOT sound good on a real sound system. We will not be able to play cassette tapes. We will also have a significant supply of sound track options to add sound tracks to entries that do not bring their own, but rely on finding that perfect sound at the last second at your own risk. If you have any further questions, please send an email to Technical Director, Joel Lord.
